Elfstrom Stadium is a friendly place to catch a single-A ballgame, with open grass hills down both lines for fans to stretch out. The park is easy to get to in the far west suburbs of Chicago – minimal traffic issues and plenty of on-site parking. The setting itself isn’t spectacular – no panoramic views or signature sites, but that works here as Elfstrom seems to offer baseball as a quiet escape from the city. The outfield area is dominated by wooden party decks and seating which were mostly empty the night I attended. The setting and amenities may not blow you away, but for $5 it’s worth finding a comfortable spot on the hill.
